WHO WE ARE

The vision of Coshocton in Bloom was created in 2010 by a group of concerned citizens looking for a way to beautify and improve the overall quality of life in our community as well as enhance economic development opportunities.

We chose to get involved with America in Bloom (AIB). We thought it was a perfect fit because of its mission to promote nationwide beautification through education and community involvement by encouraging the use of flowers, plants, trees, and other environmental and lifestyle enhancements.

Since its inception, Coshocton in Bloom has won multiple national awards including several for our outstanding floral displays. This past year CIB built 2 new greenhouses within the community to house the CIB floral production. Participating in in AIB has helped Coshocton to beautify and improve the overall quality of life through AIB programs, grant opportunities, resources library and yearly advisor visits to our community.

Each year the board of CIB reviews the AIB advisor’s evaluations of each of the 7 categories and looks for ways to improve and plan for the following year. Coshocton in Bloom has helped make Coshocton a welcoming and vibrant place to live, work, and play – benefiting from colorful plants and trees; enjoying clean environments; celebrating heritage; and planting pride through volunteerism.

Coshocton in Bloom

Our community has been involved with the America in Bloom program for several years and it has benefited Coshocton in many ways. We've experienced an overall sense of community spirit. The beautification efforts from the Coshocton in Bloom volunteers have been noticed by locals and visitors alike. Recently, we have had any new residents move into Coshocton. Moving from out of state, they see our community as a welcoming and vibrant place to live, work, play and ultimately relocate their families. Visitors frequently comment on the impressive hanging baskets and flower pots they see throughout Roscoe Village and Downtown Coshocton. Summer music concerts and other events bring thousands of visitors and locals into downtown to spend time on the court-square, support local businesses, and enjoy the beautiful flowers in our community. Enjoying this beauty around them encourages them to stay longer, to shop, dine out, and ultimately spend more dollars in our community. There's also been an incredible amount of community involvement with the new Coshocton in Bloom Greenhouses, which are used to grow the plants and assemble the hanging baskets and pots seen throughout downtown Coshocton and Historic Roscoe Village. Recently there's been a renewed effort to link Historic Downtown Coshocton and Historic Roscoe Village, which is enjoyed by the local community and our visitors. We are appreciative of the America in Bloom Program which has inspired Coshocton in Bloom to create the positive transformations taking place throughout our community. Thank you for watching!
